Every love story begins in a unique and unexpected way, and ours started long before we even understood what love truly meant. 

Albien and Laizel first met during their Grade 6 elementary days. Albien was a transferee from another school, and like many childhood stories, their classmates would tease them and call them a “love team.” It was innocent and playful, but at that time, neither of them paid attention to it. They were not close, and they did not have feelings for each other—especially Laizel, who was simply focused on her own world. 

As time passed, high school came, and they went their separate ways, enrolling in different schools and completely losing communication. Life moved on, and their story quietly paused, as if it was just meant to remain a simple childhood memory. 

But love, when it is meant by God, always finds its way back. 

Years later, their elementary friends organized a small get-together, like a reunion. It was just supposed to be a simple gathering, but it became the beginning of something beautiful. That day, Albien saw Laizel again—and in that moment, something changed. He started to see her differently. From that day on, he carried a quiet admiration in his heart. 

Being shy, Albien asked a friend to get Laizel’s number for him. Soon after, he began sending messages, slowly trying to get her attention and be part of her world. At first, Laizel did not pay much attention. She was focused on her studies and her dreams, especially as she was about to begin her college journey in Manila. Distance became another challenge, and Albien could only express his feelings and intentions through text messages. 

But Albien never gave up. 

For almost three years, he patiently waited, consistently showing his sincerity, care, and determination. While Laizel was busy chasing her dreams and striving to become an achiever, Albien quietly stayed by her side—supporting, waiting, and loving her from afar. His patience, consistency, and genuine love slowly touched Laizel’s heart. 

During Laizel’s second-year college vacation, she came home from Manila. That became Albien’s chance to finally spend more time with her since they lived close to each other. Little by little, their conversations became laughter, their friendship became comfort, and their comfort became love. 

On March 29, 2015, Albien and Laizel officially became a couple. 

From that day forward, they walked through life hand in hand—supporting each other through challenges, celebrating victories together, finishing their studies, and building dreams not just for themselves, but for their future together. 

On February 15, 2025, Albien made one of the most beautiful decisions of his life—he asked Laizel to marry him. It was a moment filled with joy, love, and answered prayers. 

On June 9, 2026, they chose to unite in a civil wedding, promising their love and commitment to one another. And this coming June 7, 2026, they stand before the altar and before the Lord, surrounded by family and friends, to receive His blessing and offer their love back to Him—because they believe that a love centered on God is the strongest and most beautiful love of all. 

What started as simple teasing in a Grade 6 classroom has now become a beautiful love story written by God’s perfect timing. 

A love that waited. 

A love that remained patient. 

A love that grew through distance and time. 

A love that chose forever. 

And today, Albien and Laizel begin the most beautiful chapter of their lives—walking together in love, faith, and commitment, as husband and wife, guided by God in every step of their forever.
