Our Love Story

They say that high school love is nothing more than a dress rehearsal—a performance played out in the costumes of teenagers, staged on a set of hallways and prom.

But for Lors and Benj, the performance was real.

Their story began in a season measured not by years, but by the ringing of school bells and the long, golden shadows of the afternoon playground. He was a year her senior while she remained a stranger to the intricate, whispered languages of the heart.

It did not begin with a bold word. There was no grand cinematic gesture.

It began with ink.

A letter, a missive, a secret confession delivered by the hand of a mutual friend. To her, romance was a distant country—unmapped and unexplored. But there, in black and white, was the revelation: a boy had been watching from the periphery. A silent sentinel, waiting in the wings for her arrival and her departure, unknown and unseen... until that moment.

Knowing he was looking changed everything. It was an awakening! A sudden, blooming consciousness where there had only been the simple, unburdened light of childhood.

Fate, however, refused to leave them to the whims of chance. Their orbits tightened. Their names began to appear side-by-side—on club rosters, on extracurricular scrolls, in the shared spaces of their youth. The silence between them dissolved into speech, and that speech forged a bond—a bond built to weather the shifting tides of their final school years.

And so when the world became vast and frightening—they did not falter.

While others were swept away by the tempest of self-discovery, lost in the frantic search for who they were supposed to be, Lors and Benj chose a different path.

They chose patience. They navigated the "crazy road" of becoming and the growing pains of youth, until the uncertainty finally settled. Until the "dress rehearsal" ended, and the curtain rose on the beautiful, stable reality of their lives today.

From school bells to the working world—they didn't just grow up. They grew together.

Nine years of sunrises passed—a decade in all but name—before he dropped to one knee. For her, it was the simplest breath she had ever drawn; the easiest "Yes" that had ever crossed her lips. It was not a victory of luck, but a harvest of discipline. They had spurned the hollow thrill of momentary happiness in favor of a deeper, more resonant kindness. They chose to honor the time they had sown, respecting the long-running beauty of a love that had moved from the schoolyard to the threshold of a lifetime.

For they had learned the ultimate truth of the soul: Love is not a labyrinth of complications. It only becomes a riddle when one burdens it with the weight of expectation. In its purest form, love is neither a feeling nor a fate—it is a choice, made daily, and kept forever.
