Our Love Story

Klaudette and Jacob had each experienced their share of disappointing relationships but held on to the belief that God had a special plan for them. Despite past heartaches, they continued to pray and trust that the right person was out there.

Klaudette, a 39-year-old pharmacist from the Philippines, had come to London, Canada, as an international student to pursue higher education. Weary of dating, she joined various dating apps, hoping to find "the one," but each encounter left her more disheartened. Yet, she prayed for guidance, trusting that God had someone special in mind for her.

Jacob, also 39 and a window cleaning entrepreneur in London, Canada, had similar experiences. His faith kept him grounded, but the wrong matches and disconnections were taking their toll. He longed to meet someone who shared his faith and values.

One evening, Klaudette decided to try one final platform: Facebook Dating. It felt different, more genuine, and she thought that perhaps this was how God was guiding her. Meanwhile, Jacob had signed up hoping to find someone authentic and shares the same faith.

Scrolling through profiles, Klaudette's attention was caught by a profile that read, "Please swipe left if you are not a Christian." Intrigued, she swiped right and instantly matched with Jacob, the profile owner. Jacob started the conversation with a simple wave. They began chatting, discovering their shared faith, similarities, and dreams of a Christ-centered life.

Their conversations flowed effortlessly. They spoke about everything day and night. It wasn’t long before they felt a connection that surpassed any they’d known before.

After weeks of daily messages and video calls, they decided it was time to meet in person. Both staying in the same city, Jacob went over to Klaudette's. When he arrived, their eyes met, and they knew that God had indeed answered their prayers.

Their first date was at Congee Chan, a local Chinese restaurant. They talked for hours, feeling as if they had known each other forever. When the bill came, the waiter apologized for running out of fortune cookies. Jacob replied, "That's alright, we've just been blessed," referring to their first meeting as if their souls had been reunited. They continued seeing each other and began attending church services together.

Jacob and Klaudette soon realized that they were each other's answered prayers. Their love blossomed, and it wasn’t long before Jacob proposed. Surrounded by friends and family, they got engaged after 10 months of dating.

As they plan their wedding, Jacob and Klaudette remain grateful for the journey that brought them together. They believe that God’s plan led them to each other and are excited to embark on this new chapter of their lives as husband and wife.
