Our Love Story

Before there was “us,” there were separate journeys — shaped by lessons, growth, and quiet prayers whispered in hope.

On November 13, 2021, at Caloco Beach, our paths crossed during a simple team building. At first, we were just co-workers with different impressions of one another. But what began as casual conversation slowly turned into something neither of us expected. By the shore that morning, between laughter and shared stories, something shifted. We began to see each other differently.

Then came a quiet moment that changed everything. As one of us knelt in the sand to play and laugh freely with a little boy who meant the world to the other, something deeper took root. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t forced. It was simply natural. In that gentle and unguarded exchange, we both began to realize that this connection was not only about two hearts — it was about the possibility of building something greater.

Our first date followed naturally. No grand plan. No dramatic confession. Just two people choosing to spend a little more time together before work, promising to keep it quiet — a promise that did not last very long. From the very beginning, our love was honest, imperfect, and real.

We never marked a single day as our official beginning. Instead, we began choosing one another daily. Through moving cities, seasons without work, a father’s illness, and difficult decisions, we learned that love is not proven in easy days but in uncertain ones. We stood beside each other when finances were tight, when responsibilities felt heavy, and when life asked us to sacrifice comfort for family.

Partnership, we discovered, means carrying each other in different seasons. Sometimes one was stronger. Sometimes one provided more. But we never stopped building together. We learned that love is more than romance — it is responsibility, forgiveness, effort, and staying when things are hard.

And somewhere along the way, fatherhood was not simply assumed — it was embraced. It was choosing to love a child wholeheartedly, to guide him gently, to protect him fiercely, and to show up every single day as if he had always been yours. In that quiet commitment, our love deepened even more, because it was no longer just about us — it was about the family we were becoming.

On November 16, 2022, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Baguio, in the middle of a quiet prayer, one of us knelt and asked the question that would mark the next chapter of our lives. There were no crowds — only faith, gratitude, and certainty. In that sacred moment, we understood that God had been writing our story all along.

Today, we stand not as two perfect people, but as two committed hearts. We promise to keep choosing each other — in joy and in hardship, in abundance and in rebuilding, in calm days and dramatic ones. We promise to build a home rooted in love, strengthened by faith, and guided by grace.

Because our story was never about perfection.

It was about perseverance.
