Yet with the pangugulit of a friend, she finally replied to his simple chat. What began as a casual exchange soon blossomed into daily conversations, each word drawing them closer.

Two weeks later, the man, curious and hopeful, visited the lady’s town with their mutual friend. Without her knowing, he caught a glimpse of her — radiant and carefree, standing before her home, laughter bubbling as she played with child in their neighborhood. From that moment, he knew this was more than chance. He resolved to nurture the spark that destiny had kindled, because for him destiny is having a mutual friend who had connected, them. He tried to invite her out, but she would only agree if their circle of friends joined. Together they built memories and created bonds, though the bond eventually faded. Still, they continued as friends.

— Different Paths In 2019, life led them in different directions. She focused on her studies and career, while he pursued opportunities abroad. Communication ceased, and they only caught glimpses of each other’s lives through social media. They met new people, but neither entered into a relationship.

— Reconnection In 2023, the man returned to the Philippines for vacation. Their circle of friends planned a reunion, and the lady joined simply to celebrate a small personal victory known only to a few.  A Promise Sealed In 2025, the man flew once more to the Philippines, this time with the intention to propose. They celebrated Christmas and New Year together in person. Before going back, the plan rolled out. He proposed, and she said Yes. They became engaged, ready to close the chapter of longdistance love and begin the next.
