A Love Written in the Stars

Long before the days of swiping right, when Friendster was the social hub of the time, Michelle and Jose’s paths first crossed. It started with simple messages—those tentative, hopeful exchanges that soon blossomed into quick "hi’s" over phone calls. Neither of them knew it then, but their story was already intertwined in ways they couldn’t have imagined.

Michelle often talked about a kind, helpful man her parents mentioned during their visits to the Philippines. They spoke of him with such warmth, not knowing that the very person they praised was the same Jose whom Michelle had been talking about to her own family. To their surprise, they later discovered that Jose wasn’t just some random acquaintance; he was also Michelle’s cousin’s childhood friend. It was as if the universe had been guiding them together all along, laying out pieces of a puzzle that would one day form the picture of their love.

When Michelle’s family finally moved back home, they met in person. But as fate would have it, their connection didn’t spark immediately. They remained friends, each living their separate lives, not realizing that their hearts were slowly aligning, waiting for the perfect moment.

Years passed, and they began talking again, this time more deeply, more intentionally. Their conversations turned into movie dates, where the silence between them was comfortable and familiar. Little by little, those dates became something more. Without them even realizing it, love had quietly woven itself into the fabric of their lives.

Now, 19 years later, Michelle and Jose look back at their journey with a sense of wonder. Their love story wasn’t rushed; it was patient, growing stronger with time. They’ve weathered many hurdles together—challenges that tested their bond but never broke it. And now, after nearly two decades of shared laughter, tears, and countless memories, they are finally getting married, ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives hand in hand.

Their story is a reminder that true love is worth the wait and that sometimes, the best things in life come to those who endure.
