Our Love Story

It was a love story that began in the hazy days of childhood.  Mac and Ivy's paths first crossed during their elementary school years. Their shared love for music brought them together as they both joined the esteemed Drum and Lyre Corp. Little did they know that their musical connection would lay the foundation for a remarkable love story.

After graduating, life took them on separate paths, and they lost touch for 15 long years. However, fate had other plans. One day, Mac spotted Ivy during a vibrant town parade. Instantly captivated by her presence, amidst the captivating melodies of the drum and lyre corps. It was a nostalgic reminder of the times they had shared in their youth. He felt an undeniable  connection reignite within him. He knew deep within his being that he had to find a way to reconnect with Ivy. Mac search for her on Facebook. To his delight, Ivy accepted his friend request, reigniting a long-lost connection.

As destiny continued to weave its intricate web, Mac and Ivy's paths crossed once again, this time at Centro Pili. However, Ivy didn't recognize Mac, who had embraced his baldness over the years. It was a humorous twist of fate, adding a touch of serendipity to their story.
 
The universe seemed determined to bring them together. One Sunday afternoon, as Mac attended a peaceful mass, he was taken aback when he saw Ivy standing before him as the soloist singer. The melodies of the choir seemed to harmonize with the beating of his heart. However, circumstances prevented Mac from approaching Ivy at that moment, leaving their connection hanging in the air.

But it was in December 2017 that Mac finally gathered the courage to send a message to Ivy. He waited for her reply, and when it came, it was as if the spark of their connection had been reignited. Their conversations flowed effortlessly, and their shared memories from their school days became the foundation of their rekindled bond.

Yet, their journey was not without its trials. Mac went to Manila and was too busy to arrange his transfer to another manning company. This resulted in a lack of communication between them. When Mac didn't communicate with her for few days, Ivy feared that he had forgotten about her which led to her blocking him on messenger out of frustration.

When Mac discovered the block, he immediately reached out to Ivy, determined to understand his fault. Ivy, feeling a mix of shame and fear of admitting her growing feelings for Mac, kept her disappointment hidden, causing their communication to come to a halt for two months.

Ivy unblocked Mac, silently hoping that he would find a way to reconnect. She made a promise to herself not to be the first to send a message, holding onto the belief that if their connection was meant to be, Mac would find his way back to her. And in March 2018, just before Mac embarked on his work assignment, he finally sent a message to Ivy, reigniting the spark between them.

Despite the physical distance that separated them, Mac and Ivy found ways to communicate during his time onboard for the next six months. Their bond grew stronger, and their love for each other deepened with each passing day.

In October 2018, Mac returned home,
he made a special visit to Ivy's workplace, their beloved alma mater, Pili West Central School.

It was a moment of pure magic as they embraced each other's presence after all those years. After seven months of courtship, filled with shared dreams and cherished moments, Ivy finally said yes to Mac, symbolizing the beginning of their beautiful relationship.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Mac and Ivy's love blossomed, their souls intertwining on a profound level. They discovered that they were undeniably meant for each other, two pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly together. With unwavering certainty, they decided to take the next step on their journey – to unite in marriage. They meticulously planned their dream wedding, setting the date for May 30, 2020, Everything almost seems prepared but the pandemic forced them to cancel.

But love knows no bounds, and Mac, determined to make Ivy feel cherished, surprised her by kneeling down and proposing to her symbolizing his earnest desire to marry her. On May 28, 2020 they got married in a  civil wedding ceremony.

They vowed to continue their planned church wedding in the future, as they believed that marriage is a sacred blessing that should be sought from God.

Last May 28, 2024, Marking their fourth year of marriage, Mac expressed his desire for a church wedding by proposing to Ivy once more.

Mac and Ivy will come together to fulfill their heartfelt promise to God and their beloved parents on September 28, 2024.
