It all started when Dexter paired me with his cousin.

Dexter and I became friends because we were classmates at Rotary and served as Presidents of our respective clubs in the same Rotary year.

Dexter began checking if I had already texted Karen and, conversely, followed up with Karen to see if she had texted me. Until February 5, 2022, at 9:02 am, when I texted Karen and introduced myself, we realized that we were living in the same condo building, the SMDC Sun Residences—I was on the 36th floor, and she was on the 17th floor.

It was February 11, 2022, while driving back to the condo from work, I texted her to ask if she was available for dinner. She said yes, mentioning she was hungry then, and that was when I finally saw her face-to-face for the first time. According to her, she didn't fall in love at first sight with me because I was too restless and talkative. However, one day, when I stopped texting her, she told me she missed me. We were both preparing for an exam that month, so we were busy until we found time for each other and started seeing each other more often since we lived in the same condo building.

Fast forward, I confessed my feelings to her, and on April 16, 2022, while we were in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, with my family, she said YES inside my Suzuki Ertiga car, and we officially started a relationship. The rest is history.

On June 18, 2023, a week after her eldest sister, Ate Jo's wedding day, I surprised her with a marriage proposal. I prepared an engagement party for her, invited all our friends, and asked them to wear white. With a complete setup of decorations and dinner at EJ Play and Campground in Imus City, I asked her if she could marry me, and she said YES again, making me feel that I would spend the rest of my life with this woman. From that day on, we knew we would support each other and help each other become better people.

Now that we are finally getting married, we are starting a new journey together. We will create our happy family, travel the world together, plan for our future, and achieve our dreams while growing old together.

I know we are not living in Disney fantasies, but we will ensure that we live happily ever after.
